Yo I do try to avoid the tacky self-praise nowadays but I am very certain that I am smarter and a better writer than JK Rowling And I try to associate with and follow people who are also smarter and better writers than JK Rowling It's a bare minimum bar, and not a difficult one

Jk Rowling's Hugo award winning book series says otherwise. Also won other awards too . Plus the critical praise she got for the HP books back when critics had experience as reviewers and not the current slate of wish fulfillment fans who are now "critics"pic.twitter.com/ILfJCr6OUU

You know the quote "Greatness inspires envy, envy engenders spite, spite spawns lies" is a quote from Lord Voldemort, which he is using to dismiss unsavory rumors about himself that turn out to be true

That could also mean Jealousy = critique of Jk

By that logic it is impossible to criticize her for anything, as it would always be just jealous without grounds. What a convenient life to live.

Theirs critique and theirs jealousy motivated rhetoric/dislike Critique should be motivated by merits and demerits of the narrative of any book series in existence I'm not saying Rowling is the best writer but she's good enough . Hate shouldn't cloud critique

Shes a mediocre writer at best. Anytime shes tried to make anything even remotely complex it just becomes a jumbled mess. See HP 3-7 (ESP 5-7) and any of her snoozer adult targeted novels. She hit a niche that needed filling at the time, but the writing itself has always been meh

Personally people attacking her writing are just pissed of with her regarding her perspective on gender politics.

Uhhh the big backlash against Rowling not being that good started LONG before any of the trans stuff came up I mean Alan Moore made Harry Potter the Antichrist in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen way back in 2012

Eh, Harry Potter as the antichrist sounds like fairly standard fundie Christian stuff. They've hated that stuff for awhile for their own backwards reasons. But I'd heard about her antisemitism and the way she treated race plenty before she the TERFism came up.

Lol Alan Moore is absolutely not a fundie Christian

Still doesn't change the fact that you've had Christians claiming it was teaching kids spells, witchcraft, and devil worship for years. Guy makes a character like Galley-Wag, it's easy to see he's not above fundie Christian tropes. Course, now J.K. TERFling agrees with them.
