If Grimes divorces Musk and they don't have a prenup (I'm sure they do, but let me dream) don't the divorce laws in California stipulate that she AT LEAST gets half his assets, meaning she would break his control of Tesla shares?

It is worth noting that *child support* is a separate discussion from divorce, and that whether or not they're married, if Musk is listed on the birth certificate as the kid's father then he cannot avoid being on the hook for the kid's expenses until the kid grows up

The guidelines for child support are based on a percentage of your income, not an absolute dollar amount, so it would be a big chunk of money no matter what

If you want to be an NBA star but raise your kid on a McDonald's cashier budget (and keep the rest of your paycheck for yourself) you can, but you have to have custody in order to do that (And honestly it's pretty fucked up that you can)
