Okay you understand that in the normal Muggle world of physics as we understand it, borders are just labels and the world is actually a continuous space

???
This whole argument is “what if I punch my sister”
“But she’s in the next room, there’s a wall in the way which protects it”
“Yes but you might still interfere!”
“There’s a wall?”
“That wall is a label, the world is continuous space”1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Okay see that's the point, no one ever actually said there was some kind of wall that blocks this effect or how that wall works

Well the magic is contained, and it’s behind rhe Leaky Cauldron, which is also inaccessible to Muggles if I recall. There’s magical and physical boundaries that stop Muggles and electronics from going near Diagon Alley

But it's not, muggle cannot see the Leaky Cauldron, and for that to work the magic must extend past the Leaky Cauldron. So if I'm standing outside of the Leaky Cauldron, and I can't see it cause the magic is screwing with my head, why isn't it screw with my cellphone?

They actually don’t “not see it” they just see a broken down shop in its place. If you wanted to take a picture of it, that’s what the phone would see to. It’s like hanging a picture over a hole in the wall - the picture is invisible to wizards, but everything else sees it

First off, no. Second that doesn't change the fact that this would still require the magic to extend beyond the leaky cauldron, and therefore fuck with electronics which is the point.pic.twitter.com/nGIO5SAsL2

That’s how it works. A Disillusionment Charm doesn’t “extend” anywhere. It covers the thing it is disguising and that’s it. Magic doesn’t “extend” and mess around with things. Only if you’re in a place will magic affect technology

So, again, if Harry wanted to make a phone call from Hogwarts he'd just have to step outside

Outside the area that Hogwarts’ protective enchantments extend to, then yes. Not just outside of the building.

Okay, so now magic does extend

Protective enchantments do, eg the scene in Deathly Hallows , they form a shield around things, but the enchantments for the Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley don’t - they’re different spells and work differently
