The majority of teenagers writing Harry Potter fanfiction in the hiatus after Goblet of Fire were better writers and ESPECIALLY better worldbuilders than JKR

Do people actually think that Rowling is any good a world building? Like holy shit the world building in Harry Potter comes apart at the slightest bit of thought. Magic fucks with electronics? Okay, how the fuck does Diagon alley work? It's in the middle of fucking London.

If you’d care to research it, it’s explained - and the fact that there’s an explanation for it proves that her world building is up to scratch

Fuck you, no it's not. Not in anyway that doesn't just further break the world down.

Ooh, insults, lovely. Sign of a mature debate. If you’d take a second to research what you were saying, you’d find this:pic.twitter.com/AS3gAc6LWF

... Are you an idiot? That explains nothing, what you just wrote is literally the thing that if given a little bit of thought causes the breakdown. Diagon Alley is hidden by powerful magic, magic fucks up electronics, why aren't the electronics by Diagon Alley fucking up?

The magic contains the street from outside view - it doesn’t magically interfere with electronics in the vicinity of the Leaky Cauldron. There’s no interference.

That’s not what I said and makes no sense?? The two don’t interfere - there’s no magic involved. No Muggles can get into Diagon Alley unless with a wizard who can get them through the Leaky Cauldron, why would there be electronics?

Of course they would interfere, Diagon Alley is still physically there, the magic used to hide it would have to interact with the world outside of it, otherwise you would be able to see it with a fucking satellite.

I mean you basically have to handwave this by saying Diagon Alley is in a pocket dimension or the like and the magic to enable this is really expensive and hard to reproduce Which, I mean, is fine
