Imagine thinking you’re a better writer and better at world building than JKR, it’s laughable, honestly.

The majority of teenagers writing Harry Potter fanfiction in the hiatus after Goblet of Fire were better writers and ESPECIALLY better worldbuilders than JKR

Do people actually think that Rowling is any good a world building? Like holy shit the world building in Harry Potter comes apart at the slightest bit of thought. Magic fucks with electronics? Okay, how the fuck does Diagon alley work? It's in the middle of fucking London.

If you’d care to research it, it’s explained - and the fact that there’s an explanation for it proves that her world building is up to scratch

Fuck you, no it's not. Not in anyway that doesn't just further break the world down.

Ooh, insults, lovely. Sign of a mature debate. If you’d take a second to research what you were saying, you’d find this:pic.twitter.com/AS3gAc6LWF

This isn't intricate worldbuilding man this is a clumsy retcon

How is it a retcon? This isn’t stuff she wrote afterwards - she’s explained her writing process. She creates the world then focuses on a plot line. Just because it’s not in the books doesn’t mean it’s a retcon to explain a plot hole, it’s just extra info

Yeah either she's really bad at that or she's lying about it

I think jealousy is overriding your judgement here - you can’t accept her writing process. Not everything has to be put in the book. To me, having the possibility for me outside of the book makes a better world and you don’t have to hate on hers to justify your inability to do it

I don't accept the process because I don't accept the result, yes, because the result is stupid
