I guarantee most learned of it last year. I saw a thing on Vox a year earlier, but considering what a massively important part of American history it is, very few people know about it.

I learned about it because of a rapper. The Game named his label Black wallstreeet in the mid 2000s told the story and I researched it further.

I did know about it, and like most of the things I know I don't remember exactly how I learned about it, but it was embarrassingly late in life, well after college
