So here's the deal. I refuse to imagine in any game I'm playing that there are fewer trans people than in reality. So, as Spiderman, I can either envision that I actually killed a certain number of trans enemies, or that a certain number of same are now being tortured bc of me

"There MIGHT be trans henchmen so it's better just to murder EVERYONE?"

I don't think you realize quite how much the plight of imprisoned trans people upsets me

So why is it so much better to deny *everyone* Spidey fights life and everything they could ever possibly be?

I really think you have a view of horrendous violent death as so much more dignified and merciful than it actually is.

It's easier for me to buy as a genre conceit than the idea of a humane jail

I mean, what can I say. I don't like the sanitization of cops or law and order, especially not when the very similar inFamous games told superhero narratives where you oppose the police and have a more diverse cast and don't think freaking drug deals are your business

Yeah it's weird when superheroes go "old school" with this shit, when they act like it's still somehow reasonable to show someone with superpowers or million-dollar super-suits going around beating the shit out of low-level petty criminals to "clean up the streets"

it's occasionally hinted that the zeroth power of every superhero is to be touched by fate--to always just happen to be in just the right place to make a difference

"Patrolling" every night and just finding violent crimes by accident is absurdly unrealistic This is actually the cops' job, and they have a whole workforce of people out doing it, and they still have to make shit up most of the time to fill their quota
