The idea that he actually had sex with Mrs. Moore is still considered a fringe theory by his fans but it is undeniable there was something really really unhealthy going on there She's obviously the template for the Patient's Mother in The Screwtape Letters

He'd had one of those relationships with his war buddy (Paddy Moore) where they each promised if one of them survived the other, they would take care of each other's parents as though they were their own Lewis apparently had a much stricter interpretation of this than most would

Lewis' brother and his friends/coworkers all thought the whole thing was deeply creepy They describe visiting them at their house and Mrs. Moore berating and scolding Lewis like a child and making him scurry around and do minor chores for her Very Agnes and Seymour Skinner

(Much like Agnes and Seymour Skinner it was a pathological devotion probably greatly strengthened by the fact that Mrs. Moore wasn't actually his mother and became a mother surrogate for him as an adult after his real mother died in his childhood)
