I do want to note relating to the debate about how Lev is portrayed in TLOU2 that Druckmann and Gross just did an interview where they flat out state that the reason they chose to have Ellie relent on killing Abby was so Lev could survive

It's *theoretically* possible that Lev could survive if he just got in a boat by himself but, admittedly, not very

I just went off of what the interview said, where they felt it was definitely the most feasible if not the only way for him to survive. (I assume they considered other options like him not being captured by the Rattlers.)

In any case their whole course for any potential TLOU3 (which is looking more and more likely) would be utterly defined by having Abby killed in front of Lev, because Ellie would abso-fcking-lutely never sleep again for excellent reason

I really, *really* hope a potential Part 3 isn't defined by this death of a parental figure loop again. Have it be Abby and Lev fighting to reach Ellie for the cure or some vaguely hopeful shit.

I think it's going to exactly be like that. I would be shocked if Lev wasn't the player character, possibly alternating with Ellie for fan service purposes.

(with the idea being something like "he and the Fireflies are gonna go get that lady this time and make sure they get her brain" and then that gets complicated but not because Ellie wants to fck it up this time)

No it's going to turn out that the Large Rattler and Small Rattler were a couple and had an adopted daughter, you see
