They did hire the Squad for SWTOR. Although that was developed in the US and not Canada, not sure if that makes a difference

I think SWTOR is unique in that it has a fuckton of voiced lines and characters. I think typically Bioware has voice actors they like to use. Its why they have sort of their own squad.

Right, it's why as someone who predominately played Bioware games I had no idea who most of the CVAS was until my friends started talking about Critical Role and even then I didn't realize these people were mainly famous for not-Critical Role

To me, a high profile voice actor was Jennifer Hale. I vaguely noted back in 2013 "oh this same guy is the violent dad with the revolver in two games this year" but I didn't realize he was also in basically every other game

And I literally until about a year ago (when news of her casting in TLOU2 leaked) thought Laura Bailey was a misspelling of a widely known and dogpiled trans woman on social media who has a very similar name. I had no idea she was in EVERY GAME (except Bioware)

Anyways I would personally really point to the location, above all. There's a few specific VA crowds/studios located in a few centralized locations, with other VAs being relatively scattered.

Yeah these days if you do games you want to be in LA Anime is still largely in Texas (where Funimation is)

ADV was in Texas back in the day, most of the original Eva dub actors are still Houston-based, and that probably played a role in Netflix deciding to ditch them and to with their crew of LA dub actors

I'm really rooting for Casey Mongillo to get a break and join the Squad, if they're LA based

Mongillo did get into VO in the first place as a GTA superfan

I still remember their post about how they'll never get on a bandwagon that Rockstar is problematic because Rockstar was their only VO employer who didn't instantly drop them when they transitioned
