Ridiculing bigotry in broad daylight is one of the things that often gets described as “cancel culture.” (Or “call-out culture” a few years back.)

I have no problem with that. Look, y’all are arguing with someone that shares 98, possibly 99.5% of the same views as you. I disagree on tone & terms of the debate, but not which side I am on. I have direct trans experience which I love & cherish, hence I know a lot about it...

...which is why I read as much as I could on all sides, to be informed. My views are 100% supportive of trans rights, dignity, & respect. And I got a ton of abuse from people who assume my position, assume my thoughts, insult me, and why? Because I suggested it was a topic that

Not a helpful take. Do keep in mind that as an ally to the marginalized it is not your job to struggle to be heard. Yours is not the most important voice. And it definitely isnt relevant whether someone has correctly assessed your "heart and mind." Allyship is a supporting role.

Support means support. Not Devil's Advocacy. You dont have to agree with or understand everything you hear or read but you do have to accept that you do not have as much skin in the game when it comes to fallout if it happens that you're wrong.
