Be very suspicious when people rail about being persecuted for "just stating an opinion" but don't want to say what the opinion is.

Reaching out in good faith - I think you are missing what they are saying. It’s not about persecution, it’s about not being consistent. I’m liberal - I believe in integration not segregation, that facts & science are important, and companies don’t dictate or police your thoughts.

During Bush years, it was clear the right did not support any of those things. I’m happy to give you plenty of examples of the left today flipping and now being intolerant of any views outside those approved. It’s disappointing & disheartening.

With all respect, this is exactly what I'm talking about. What are the "views outside those approved"?

Ok - since you asked - the Tom Cotten op ed was constitutional wrong & showed him to be an idiot. But if you argue that it was ok for The NY Times to run it then you are accused of making things more dangerous for black NY times employees.

I have nothing but respect for trans people. But you cannot question growing numbers of trans teens without being called a bigot - never mind what the science behind gender dysphoria suggests.

Oh. You're THAT type. The, "I'm a liberal, but *insert bigotry here* type. Yes, Tom Cotton in the New York Times arguing that the military should be allowed to murder Black Lives Matter protestors did make Black journalists there less safe.

Because it made it clear just how much violent minded racism management would tolerate. Invalidating trans people because *you* think there are too many of us is transphobic because it means you think you get decide when our identities get to "count."

It means young trans people don't get the support and care they need because people like you think they must be deluded. People object to your positions because they are bad, dangerous positions that get people hurt.

Honestly, your examples are so blatantly bigoted that I suspect you of having us on. What's next, "I'm a liberal, but I think it's a shame that you can't question if women are suited to working outside the home without someone attacking you!"?
