Reaching out in good faith - I think you are missing what they are saying. It’s not about persecution, it’s about not being consistent. I’m liberal - I believe in integration not segregation, that facts & science are important, and companies don’t dictate or police your thoughts.

During Bush years, it was clear the right did not support any of those things. I’m happy to give you plenty of examples of the left today flipping and now being intolerant of any views outside those approved. It’s disappointing & disheartening.

With all respect, this is exactly what I'm talking about. What are the "views outside those approved"?

Ok - since you asked - the Tom Cotten op ed was constitutional wrong & showed him to be an idiot. But if you argue that it was ok for The NY Times to run it then you are accused of making things more dangerous for black NY times employees.

I have nothing but respect for trans people. But you cannot question growing numbers of trans teens without being called a bigot - never mind what the science behind gender dysphoria suggests.

A growing number of liberals are favoring segregation between races. But attacking books like White Fragility is not allowed - it means you have white privilege. A NY school board member screamed at another white member for having a child of color on his knee - and is praised.

I haven't heard of anyone favoring racial segregation.

As far as the other two issues: you're free to have an opinion, but other people are free to have theirs. And they may have a point. The Cotton editorial did arguably make black journalists less safe. Wanting fewer trans people to exist is kinda bigoted against trans people.

Which doesn't mean you're wrong! It's true that the NYT can publish what it wants, and some people don't like trans teens. But when you state opinions that could hurt other people, those people may argue with you. That's how free speech works.

Understood. But it’s not dislike trans teens. It’s that the science suggests social trending (1500%, yes 1500, increase). And people get smeared. I know he is a pariah, but Jesse has repeatedly asked critics to show what writing he has done that is harmful. None is produced.
