I mean it reflects the real Alexander Hamilton's opinion but that opinion was extremely biased Kinda sucks the two dudes HAMILTON shits on most, John Adams and Aaron Burr, were among the two most anti-slavery of the Founding Fathers (and Burr supported women's suffrage to boot)https://twitter.com/IgneousSigil/status/1282478626752147456 …

I mean like whatever evidence you assemble for the idea that Aaron Burr was a morally empty power-hungry manipulator... George Washington was that but moreso He was just better at it, partly because his strategy included being a slaveowning millionaire

Hot take but George Washington sucked -- he was a massively corrupt billionaire plutocrat who cared about nothing but securing his own name in history, the Jeff Bezos of his time His godlike stature is because of intentional mythmaking

And HAMILTON dives right into the Washington mythmaking with glee

Although it's also true George III was really kind of a background figure like most British monarchs at that point. He wasn't exactly great but he also very much wasn't running the show.

Weird that people seem to think that the play is *endorsing* the various views/opinions of the founding fathers. It made fun of them a lot of the time IMO. Miranda seems to admire Washington's decision to give up the presidency and not much else. Ok maybe Hamilton's work ethic.

That's someone who could have been a Founding Father, not someone who actually was a Founding Father in the history we got
