My money is on Jackson and Dina. And her maybe not being the full PC in a TLOU3. But not quite getting the Joel sequel treatment.

      Replying to @markemer @TellerGrim

The only way Ellie is dying in a TLOU game is brain surgery, and I think it's unlikely they'd go with such an unambiguous heroic end for her. So I doubt she dies on screen

If they do make TLOU 3, which I reckon they will, I imagine it would involve Ellie meeting another immune person. Seems to be a natural place for her story to go.

That would only really fit the tone if the immune person was a kid (and it just became a direct doover of 1) or someone she was in love with Of course if my theory that it IS an STI and hers is just benign, that might mean JJ is immune from his mom

JJ or a future Ellie/Dina child being immune would be a heck of a story.

I’m wondering if Abby is going to find out she’s immune after being bitten by Ellie. Her making that discovery would have to mess with her emotions.

And, again, possibly present her with a feeling of obligation to finish what her dad started

If that's how it works then you don't need a vaccine, her spit is already the vaccine

Like if they go there then it's a retcon that Marlene and Jerry were just stupid, which undermines the whole plot of both games

Just Jerry. Marlene was just listening to his supposed expert advice. But it is a bit retconny.

Checking to see if they could make a vaccine just from her bodily fluids would've been the first thing they tried!

I don’t often try to bring science into it since none of the science of anything related to the infection makes much sense. I’ve just accepted it’s all nonsense.

Which is funny because the whole “world without us” vibe of the setting is pretty realistic.
