Why are you reading the worst interpretation of what I said? Even in this system in which community professionals raise children, they're still close to the child and in virtually the same position as a parent.

How do you not get that this is like saying a senator is the same thing as an emperor

Even if I were to take that wild supposition on its merits it literally doesn't matter because children do not actually have agency to assign their own caretakers Timmy can't just conscript Phil the Comic Book Shop Owner to be one of his stakeholdershttps://twitter.com/spqtemple02/status/1281873860816764929 …

I'm talking about within the group of individuals who take jobs in these theoretical community childcare centers that put them in proximity to kids consistently. What, you think they won't interact?

Are you saying that a child might like one of his caretakers better than the other, and that the sheer act of their liking this person de facto gives them complete control over the child and irreversibly shuts out every other adult from the decision process

Why do you so completely discount the power of emotional attachment? How many stories of authority figures sexually abusing kids who then keep quiet to protect their abuser do you need?

So you're concerned about child sexual abuse by people they attach strongly to, and your solution is to let that attachment be consolidated in a single entity chosen by an accident of birth?

And yours is to let that power be consolidated in whatever individual they grow attached to at the orphanage they were assigned?

The biggest difference here is saying that person, whoever they are, should have to deal with some kind of external authority "breathing down their neck second-guessing their decisions" (the thing conservatives hate about CPS)

And, specifically, that children should have "someone they can go running and crying abuse to whenever their parents do something they don't like" (the other conservative bogeyman)

Yes and this is especially true for home schooled children who can be kept systematically away from mandatory reporters
