No, you're not. If I have a kid who then goes to be reared by the community as a whole, I'm still me. I haven't changed in any way from the current system except that my capacity to hurt the child, knowingly or accidentally, has been diminished.

This bias that when adults form bureaucracies and institutions their actions become depraved and corrupt but when they act as individuals in relationships you can trust their inherently decent nature is very common among Republicans It's the complete opposite of my experience

I am under no illusions that the state, the government, the community, whatever, give a shit about me I've been trampled and fucked with in countless ways by the bureaucrats But none of them has ever come CLOSE to hurting me as bad as individuals I had a real relationship with

Well, yeah, the only ppl I would trust with power over my life, ARE ppl who see me as just another vote to win. Any person with an actual personal interest in my life, who has their own idea of “what is best for me” - should NEVER have power over me.
