This bias that when adults form bureaucracies and institutions their actions become depraved and corrupt but when they act as individuals in relationships you can trust their inherently decent nature is very common among Republicans It's the complete opposite of my experience

That's really not the perspective. It's that institutions areliable to be corrupt as any individual seeing as they are but collectives of individuals, and since we can only really know ourselves we prefer that we retain as much power and responsibility as individuals as possible

Society is moving in my direction, if only in fits and starts Like I truly believe to a big degree this is why we have that "birthrate crisis" conservatives are so upset about, and I doubt that it will reverse itself if we miraculously get a booming economy after COVID-19
