It's because the North fought to free the slaves and then abandoned them to the tender mercies of the Redeemers and the Klan after the Hayes-Tilden election It's not a complicated story, Griffiths' Birth of a Nation is a celebration of ithttps://twitter.com/JimBovard/status/1281274522709172225 …

How many folks cheerleading for John Brown & the Civil War know that post-war ex-slaves had a mortality rate @ 200+ times higher than the COVID-19 fatalities this year? https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/19th-century-radical-chic-the-transcendentalists-love-affair-with-john-brown/ …

I'm sorry I'm still grappling with the Civil War being the fault of John Brown, and not the states who seceded to preserve slavery.

Love how the writer mentions post-war poverty and neglect as mortality rate factors, but suggests that the war itself was the problem and it might have been better to compromise and allow slavery to continue until 1900. That’s an interesting thought process.

A mortality rate post 1865 200x times higher than covid 19? The mortality rate post 1865 was 100%. They are all dead. Their children are all dead with perhaps one or two exceptions.
