Sure! Let's do the Prestige, I haven't discoursed about it in a while My case for why it is good: it is fcked up and leaves you feeling icky and shocked and I enjoy that in my movies.

This is why I feel like Ex Machina was so slept on And why suggestions people made for improving it - true redemption for any of the humans, true solidarity among any of the robots - would've ruined it

Loved Ex Machina~ Really don't think the men could have been redeemed in that movie because it was specifically showing a toxic relationship. Nathan felt he owned Ava. Caleb felt he was owed Ava. There's no redeeming either.

It's the latter more than the former, there were complaints that the ending of the movie seemed to be foreclosing the idea of solidarity among robots (or, dropping the metaphor, among women) but that bleakness is what makes the whole film
