The only thing that I've learned from this is that Helen Lewis has an absurdly childish, distorted idea of how tree so-called "Oppression Olympics" works and thinks people are being hypocrites when they're just not being stupid "I played a trump card! Why didn't it work?" https://twitter.com/JeffreyGoldberg/status/1280210389230288897 …

It is an issue of self-id without proper safeguarding. Transwomen have been in women's spaces without issues for a long time, but if you allow anyone to identify as a woman it does increase the risk for both transwomen and women by allowing abusive men to enter those spaces.

There is no issue of safeguarding. They are trans women, not transwomen. Do you say "Blackwomen," "disabledwomen" or "Muslimwomen?"

What is a difference between transwomen and trans women? ESL speaker here. And don't deny safeguarding issues, it will discredit you.

Transphobes commonly use "transwomen" instead of "trans women" as a dogwhistle for their hate. It's used that way because they don't acknowledge "trans" as a an adjective; they see it as inseparable. As though trans women are another gender category separate from "woman."
