Yeah. There's somewhat different possibilities in grand strategy games (and sports games), but the end condition isn't really *narrative* in the same way. But they are strikingly replayable.

Sports games might actually be the best for this, because the narratives are so easy to lay on top of a set of box scores, which games do an excellent job generating.

I think it's tricky because most of the games I like have me design my protagonist and then the narrative kind of hijacks them like a derailing GM

I mean Undertale still really only has three endings and the way those endings work is still pretty arbitrary There were people who were pretty pissed that the "good" ending still has no way to directly hold Asgore and Alphys accountable for their objectively horrific crimes
