I kind of agree with @BootlegGirl that the idea that evoking guilt as an emotion means you, the player in the real world, are actually meant to literally feel guilty is silly
It's a highly immature idea of what games are about that we can't seem to get past

It's a matter of harsh limitations on a particular medium, let's call it that It's the equivalent of the critics getting worried about the idea that you can't do a big budget movie anymore that isn't explicitly a superhero fantasy
