Scott Siskind has stated on multiple occasions his belief that Eugenics is in fact good, specifically citing Murray's widely discredited "The Bell Curve."

May I also invite you to peruse the Reddit he frequents for his blog, which has many very racist conversations around genetic intelligence and which races lack it. He chooses not to moderate it, citing that the debate should be ongoing.

Scott, and anyone for that matter, is not responsible for fringe groups twisting his opinions to fit whatever bullshit agenda they want

He could choose to moderate his Reddit. Or rather, he could tell his moderators to treat "Human Biodiversity" like they do "The Culture Wars." He deliberately chooses not to.

People who know him have told me he's super racist, but I've never read a blog post of his that struck me as racist, but then again his posts are so long that I only read a few.

Anything shared in public? I've never met Scott in person but have talked to people that have and I've never heard anything other than he's polite, thoughtful and caring. This really doesn't fit with my image of him at all based on his blog and anecdotes I've heard.

He writes a lot of stuff. But there are some receipts here for some of the most direct moments.https://twitter.com/arthur_affect/status/1276352549843435521?s=19 …

I will read this. Like I said before though, the term “Eugenics” is not by necessity some evil tool. If we can select for traits that benefit the population as a whole, that’s a good thing. We don’t have to assume the worst possible interpretation of everything

I mean, do we honestly think that Scott is openly advertising his desire for a biologically crafted superior race? What direct information do we really have to jump to that conclusion?

Scott is openly stating that he thinks the concept of sterilization as a prerequisite for social welfare programs (preventing the genetic causes of poverty from being transmitted) would have positive effects, and the reason he's against it is it's "too coercive"

The whole point of the blog post that comment was posted in reply to is that Scott is a strong supporter of the right-wing belief that social welfare programs are in general a big waste of time and the causes of poverty are intractable (and heritable)

It has been years since I read it, but IIRC, to any extent that he suggests removing welfare programs he suggests replacing them with a UBI. Either way, the belief that environment may not explain 100% of IQ differences certainly doesn't necessitate right wing economic views.

But the political advice given in the Bell Curve not only is nonsensical (in that it often seems to lay a premise and then suggest ideas that argue against that premise), but often indistinguishable from "right wing economic views."
