Yeah I think all I ask is that you just not bring up non-parents at all when talking about parenting shit It's not our issue, it has nothing to do with us, there's nothing most of us can do about it https://twitter.com/AnaMardoll/status/1279101778164953091 …

If not, and your concern is the general social safety net, parental leave policies, etc then that's really more of a rich vs poor thing or a boss vs worker thing than it is a parent vs non-parent thing isn't it

Most of this seems like a call not for material compensation but emotional compensation, complaining that the "psychic wage" of parenting has gone down, that our society doesn't HONOR parents the way it used to Well, tell it to your therapist

Why should I have to be involved in other people's poor decisions?

I am bad with children. Parents are free to tell me they want me, a person who doesn't have the skill set they have and will likely react to recalcitrance by bursting into tears, to help raise their baby, but do they really? Are they sure?

Like in theory I wouldn't mind being part of the village that raises your child, but in practice, convincing me to opt into parenting with you would not be a win for anyone.
