Honestly Thor in Endgame is so much closer to a realistic aftermath to having to witness your entire planet get exploded than Star Wars And people keep using this as a girl power thing to pump up Leia but it really just does her a disservice as a character

In theory, he recognized Asgard was an evil colonialistic superpower that didn't deserve to exist anymore. His depression was more about half the universe dying.

Understanding that on an intellectual level is one thing, but that's still your home, where you grew up, where your life happened. Seeing it destroyed is going to have an impact. Failing to stop the Snap is ALSO a factor, but it would make sense for it to be both.

what's left of his people are in a safe place. There's no more distractions. Everything's hitting him at once. There's a reason why he's failing to cope, even though the other Avengers who also failed to stop Thanos are still fighting the good fight or moving on.

Stopping Thanos was going to be his redemption for the Fall of Asgard, the eucatastrophe that was going to make it all worth it and validate everything he'd been through And he fucked it up
