had some downtime, so I perused Twitter for a bit. and then went down a few rabbit holes trying to figure out why everyone was talking about toxic standup comedians, gamers, and some guy named "Scott" who was supposedly being doxxed. and that's how I wasted my last hour...

...and I must say regarding this Scott Alexander story (which I know little to nothing about), funny seeing numerous notable ppl complaining about his potential doxxing who I know for sure wouldn't give two shits if this was a trans writer who was being deadnamed. just sayin'...

The broad community is by no means more anti-trans than avg. On the contrary. In general, the trans-ness wouldn't limit their outrage. Scott in particular has even dated trans. And doxxing is seen as a bad thing in general. But yeah, this level of reaction we like the guy.

"Than average" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this sentence, considering one of Scott's commenters founded the r/Blanchardism subreddit And "has even dated trans" says a lot about your attitude

But yeah, "than average" does a lot of heavy lifting. There's much work to be done in society in general to forwards the acceptance of trans people. There's no reason to think that anything in this community in particular pushes in any direction other than positive.
