If you genuinely decide to have kids because you think your genes are superior, I can't stop you, but you're an asshole, and if you actually say it I can call you one

That’s not what I mean or what he means. If a woman wants to have babies with the smartest and most attractive man she can find, is that wrong? Is that eugenics? No.

It's kind of creepy if she actually seriously believes that this will guarantee her kids to share the guy's positive qualities, especially intangible and indefinable ones like "intelligence"

That’s almost never what she’s thinking. However, that is the underlying mechanism motivating her action. And that mechanism is not menacing or morally wrong

You understand that psychology is evolutionary psychology, right? We are an evolved species, and our brain is an organ that evolved like any other under selection pressures. This is as backed up as any claim in Cosmology

just because the brain is an evolved organ doesn't mean that evolutionary psychology is right, evolutionary psychology is rife with ad hoc rationalizations and naturalistic fallacy bullshit. And I say that as someone far more forgiving of evolutionary psychology than most.

What you’re calling ad hoc rationalization could be said about basically all of Cosmology. One could—although they’d be ignorant of how science works—say that Cosmology is mostly “just-so story telling”.
