How else are they supposed to access the political world to form opinions, but through reading Bolton's book? Not like there's anything happening on city blocks and down the street...

I was talking about this to someone earlier. Do I want to pay for Bolton's book? No. Do I want to read Bolton's book? Also no.

That was my plan. I can honestly say there's enough damning information in the public record that Bolton's book couldn't possibly add anything useful.

I’m just ignoring it, but I think the idea would be a specific disincentive to publishers to offer advances to folks from the Trump administration looking to cash in on their own bad morals.

Okay but as the pro-piracy people helpfully remind us, it's unlikely any individual act of piracy was a lost sale, and it's impossible for them to really keep track of it anyway, so who cares really

I don't see how free copies hurt janitors if it wasn't going to be purchased anyway. No profit is no profit. I could see an argument that publicly sharing links makes it easier for people who would normally buy it to get it for free, but that doesn't seem to be the argument.

This take is especially funny since book sales are entirely bulk company purchasing so by the time some random person buys a copy in Barnes and Noble, the money has already changed hands. Pirate the shit out of that book.
