BIOSHOCK 2, much like KOTOR 2 and ARKHAM ORIGINS, is one of those farmed out sequels that got sneered at for being a farmed out sequel but has had an opinion shift over time and is now considered possibly better than the main series

Neverwinter Nights 2 is the ultimate in “crappy farmed out sequels”

Well the real ultimate is MASK OF THE BETRAYER, the expansion pack Much like people say the best piece of Bioshock narrative overall might be the Minerva's Den DLC for BIOSHOCK 2

Isn’t Mask of the Betrayer by the Planescape guy and therefore in its own little genre of “games about realizing you are so terrible that the universe is dying because of you, seriously fck you”?

“Hi, I’m Chris Avellone, I felt like a bad person one day and now I have made several million dollars to make games about how bad I feel for being terrible. I’m currently trying to catch up with Joss Whedon!”

FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS, often cited as the best Fallout game, is also him and also like this, with a ranting antagonist obsessed with how the fundamental basis of the setting is evil and therefore the whole thing has got to go

I dunno, I like him a lot still, but there's only so many epiphanies you can have that the very nature of your world is fundamentally fucked after you turn 30 Like, you get used to it

So fun fact about forgotten realms: it’s canonical that earth exists (various ethnic groups are from there, several real world deities are literally forgotten realms deities, Ed Greenwood is friends with Elminster), so this IS the motb world

They never answered whether the afterlife rules also extend to Earth, but probably not (it seems like Ao and his law only hold dominion within Faerun's crystal sphere)

The afterlife rules are specific to faerun, it’s even been stated I believe that it doesn’t apply to other continents on the same world

The Celestial Emperor being another, unrelated overgod IS a little weird
