Yeah, plus it doesn't matter what he called it. The end all is what showed up that night. So it remains as nebulous as that Sunday night 13 years ago.
The reason this comes off as a slip-up is because he was *extremely* cagey about everything to do with this scene even though the interpretation of it is honestly fairly straightforward (there's one creepy guy we're meant to think might be the assassin etc)
And it still doesn't matter. The whole point of the Sopranos ending was that Tony's victory was an empty one, because of the life he's chosen. He'll never rest easy. There could be a hitman around every corner, and eventually, there will be, tomorrow or ten years from now.
