As someone who is frequently pedantic I sometimes sit and hypocritically brood on which unnecessary pedantry from other people annoys me most I've decided it's people who try to draw a distinction between the word "possum" and "opossum"

What if torpedos are used to launch people, would that be considered a boat?

It's been in at least one Bond movie and a couple of video games, IIRC. Retrofitting a torpedo to serve as a single-occupant vessel that can be independently steered. Would they class that as a sort of boat?

They could launch smaller submarines. Japan sort of did that in WWII.
