police shouldn't have power to do traffic stops. having someone with a gun pull over random citizens for infractions and misdemeanors is obviously dangerous and unjust.

some european countries just use a ton of traffic cameras; enough that traffic violations are certain to be caught. people just get mailed tickets.

Every time a cop pulls somebody over on the interstate here, it backs up traffic for miles followed by a Mad Max free for all when they’re done. So not only does catching one speeder accomplish nothing, the cops just made driving conditions even less safe.

In places like Italy, stronger social enforcement of “pass on the left and DO NOT pass on the right” leads to FAR safer highway driving than speed limits do
