Jfc I really hate how "how dare professional authors ask for a living wage and not getting their labor pirated by people or treated as a cheap pastime" is becoming left dogma.

The thing that I find particularly galling is them pretending book piracy is exactly the same as video game piracy. All so they don't have to acknowledge that the folks they're wanting to be unable to make money are faceless corps instead of creatives struggling to pay bills.

If you're actually a fan of video games it's pretty obvious how the entire structure of AAA gaming has been altered by widespread piracy That's WHY the gospel is now "gaming as a service" and everyone is focused on multiplayer and treating the game as buying access to a server
