And yes, I know that nobody having to pay for them at all anymore doesn't mean that nobody ever will pay I strongly dispute that turning paying for books into a purely voluntary gratuity is reasonable or sustainable

It all leads to contradictions like "books are so vital access to them is a human right, but creating them is basically a hobby and doesn't deserve payment" or "it is essential that reading books be accessible to the poor, but okay that writing them be a hobby for the wealthy"
