Sure, but I can also go and buy the track directly from the artist to support them. Do I need to go and photograph the actual CDs I have from these artists to prove that the model works? I don't know what you're trying to argue, here. You claim that no other model works.

The whole system is designed to "force" you to pay the IP holders for access to the content. An alternative would be making it easier to voluntarily pay the creators for it and taking a small cut for your usefulness.

Which is the Patreon model I suggested above. Or paying artists directly for, say physical media even if you can get the digital version for as good as free. The other model I suggested.

People want to pay for art they like. That remains true. And it's how people with Patreon and large, niche, fanbases work. Sci Show is free to watch on YouTube, and yet it has Patreons.
