It’s not a valid means for hairdressers to protect themselves from capital. I’d rather have sectorial labor contracts rather than occupational licenses.

Another major factor is that a lot of people would rather have a predictable wage than a portion of profits (which may be $0).

I'm an employee in a small firm. I have a contract and I know what my paycheck is going to be every week and I never have to worry about whether or clients are paying their bills on time.
