People used to talk about how great it was that Harry Potter was a geek brand as big as Star Wars or Marvel Comics or whatever but it was still "creator owned", that JKR never relinquished her veto power over the franchise, everything in it is still fundamentally hers

George Lucas is more "thoughtless white guy" harmful. Goanna Rodding is more "actively malicious" harmful. Doesn't justify either, but one is measurably worse.
