Well, I'm h=just saying that name-calling goes both ways, and yes, you all are pretty sensitive about names, while feeling privileged enough to be extremely impolite in conversations like this. YOU haven't been--- yet. But then, neither have I.

I haven't been swearing at you because I refuse to cede you the illusory moral high ground you would insist you'd gained if I did. Don't mistake that for a lack of desire to hurl every four-letter word in the dictionary in your direction. Your rhetoric disgusts me.

My high ground is that people shouldn't lose their jobs for their political opinions on either side of this issue because X-tians or pious Wokes think it is their mission on earth to police our thoughts. It's not my "rhetoric" that disgusts you. It is that you agree with me.

When a trans person's cis coworkers openly debate the validity of that trans person's existence, they create a hostile work environment, which that trans person should not be expected to endure. Our existence should not be up for debate.

As far as I know, no one in Maya's work situation was actually trans. Just wokes covering their ass in virtue signals again. Would you mind explaining this "existence" thing? What does it even mean?

It was a public-facing international company. You don't want a crazed nutjob publicly tweeting when you're running that kind of business. Crazy person.

Everyone has opinions that are offensive to someone. "Publicy facing company"... feh. Any big corporation could fire any LGBT person for fear of offending China or Saudi Arabia if we foll wed your logic. Careful of the bed you are making.

No, because sexuality and gender identity being a protected class does not imply that all "opinions" are protected in the same way, that's what I keep telling you

"Opinions" being protected - "You can't fire someone because of words that they say" - is fundamentally untenable and nobody really believes it

I'm glad you are such an outspoken opponent of the freedom of speech.

I am, because this version of it is untenable and meaningless If you really think everyone should be guaranteed to have whatever job they want regardless of their behavior the fight starts at a much deeper level than Maya fucking Forstadter

If you think everyone should have a UBI as a matter of their rights as a citizen and being a bigot shouldn't cost you that I'm fine with that opinion But the idea that people should be guaranteed to stay in the jobs they have regardless of their behavior is ridiculous

By all means, please, put a real UBI into place and pay bigots a living wage to just stay home and leave us alone.
