If trans people want workplace protections for their political beliefs, then those protections must also extend to those who disagree. It's that simple. Maya was treated in EXACTLY the same fashion as a person fired merely for being trans. I do not tolerate EITHER.

It's what they believe about gender. That is what I mean by political. Race, gender, religion, politics-- as long as it is not affecting your job and you are not harassing people, it is no one else's business.

No, it isn't, Aimee Stephens wasn't fired over any of her "beliefs", which her boss never asked her about, she was fired for using she/her pronouns and showing up to work in a dress

Well she was obviously creating a hostile workplace then. She believed she could express herself, and deserves to be labeled an enemy of the state by a British labor board for it.

The tribunal was going to find against Forstater in any case, since she had no right to a contracting job. Forstater's cult beliefs were never the problem. The judge discusses them here only because Forstater kept talking about them...at the tribunal!

That's not what the concept of "protected speech" means, and it has never, ever, ever been the law that you cannot get fired from a private sector job by an employer who doesn't like the things you say

The concept of "protected classes" in employment discrimination law has nothing to do with "protected speech" In fact in order for employment law to function it has to go the exact opposite direction

Being a Muslim is protected class - that means the right to say "As a Christian, I believe Muslims are going to hell" is NOT protected, and is grounds for suing your employer if they tolerate it (hostile work environment)
