There needs to be a German word for when you didn't get into something popular for years because your friends all said it was basic and problematic and then once you actually see it you're totally into it and you realize you yourself are basic and problematic

People always say that and I get it, I've seen the horror stories, but I guess I don't go out enough because the only Rick and Morty fans I know IRL are pretty normal young women.
