Okay so look I don't actually think I personally fit the definition of a "compulsive liar" but other people have the thing where if someone asks you a personal question you think first about what answer to give to get what reaction and only later about what's true right

And this is why therapy is such a challenge, because it's like the goal of talking about yourself at all is to either get something you want out of the other person or to get them to back off and leave you alone, and doing so for any other reason is dangerous and foreign

The weird thing being this isn't an obstacle to talking about yourself or "opening up" at all, and indeed you're *better* at that than most people, you wanted to be an actor for that reason
