It's possible that lead poisoning and nicotine withdrawal explain most of the last 50 years.

I really think lead poisoning is behind a lot of shit here.

A lot of shoot everywhere I think. Also growing up with the knowledge that the whole world could be destroyed in nuclear fire at any point due to a simple misstep must have had some long term negative effects, too.

Considering they're getting less than the preceeding generation in almost any regards (wealth, healthcare, undisturbed nature, infrastructure,...) at some point that had to work out to their advantage.

If you’re referring to baby boomers, I am one & I can say with some authority that we are the softest bunch of wimps, for the most part.

There's wisdom in this but I think you need to adjust your time scale a bit: Atmospheric lead reductions start in the *70s*. So, younger GenX-ers, not the younger kids. But yeah, the point very much still stands. GenX got the same criticism.
-
Even us young GenXers were still dealing with lead in the soil (& paint). Our blood levels were significantly lower than all the people who were breathing the lead all the time, but I know that the acceptable lead in blood levels for me (late X) were higher than my early Mil sib.
