Tbh, we should just change it now because it's just a much better name, and "Terran" sounds a hundred times cooler than "Earthling"

They then find out that the word "earth" is also an archaic term for "dirt" or "soil" on many planets but is now rarely used, probably because of the religious taboo attached to the name of the planet Earth
