The hardest part about not having kids is that anytime something happens that confirms not having kids was an awesome and correct decision you have to endure all these guilt trips over ithttps://twitter.com/benjanun_s/status/1264850189027667969 …

*Internal* guilt trips, too, like I'm not gonna pretend like being taught that having kids is the only way to truly learn to love another person or do your duty to all the human beings who came before you etc doesn't mess with your head

At this point I don't even care, though, like even if it were actually true I'm like "Yeah I'm happy to trade the true meaning of life for convenience and temporary pleasure, fuck that shit"

You know that having a kid costs $250,000? "If the Devil appeared before you with a box with a red button in it and said, If you press this button you'll get $250k, but in return -- " "I'd hit the button" "But you didn't let me finish -- " "Yup"

Replying to @arthur_affect
that's damned cheap. in australia it costs something above $1mil to get a child all the way thru school, food and all other expenses included. and there is NO way i'd hit that button.

$250k is a lowball estimate, it doesn't include education costs at all (no college tuition and assumes 12 years of public school and no paid preschool or summer school or whatever) Also doesn't include the cost of moving your house to a better school district
