But his death was totally unnecessary and happened because she was selfish. Just like holding out on that rock for decades instead of figuring out how to help her family with it, and not telling her family who she really was.

Or hell, the rock actually should have been returned to her ex-fiance, the one she cheated on rather than breaking up with. He committed suicide because he lost his money, and she had his damn diamond.
