Unfortunately we live in a country where not everyone has the means to do that and continue to feed their family

additionally, once people start accepting people wearing them as protection it helps begin normalizing wearing them as proactive protecting of others like its stupid but its america and i will take baby steps where i can because some lives saved are better than none

of course people should just fucking wear a mask in the first place, but as we've learned far too many americans stopped maturing at age 3, so

no, it's moronic to wear a mask. It makes as much sense as requiring men to walk around wearing condoms because it is possible they will spontaneously have sex with some one. How about you do us all a favor a wear a mask and leave the rest of us the fuck alone?

What the fuck are you saying, are you saying you have the same amount of control over whether you have sex with someone as whether you exhale near them

reading comprehension is your friend. No, what I'm saying is pretty clear in English.

I'm saying you have no way of knowing whether or not you are currently infected, and if you are infected, you can infect other people just from standing near them and exhaling tiny droplets of spit that end up landing in their mouth The analogy with condoms is stupid

sure I do. I just told you. I'm not infected. Deal with it. Buy yourself a butyl rubber suit and a respirator if you are that afraid. The analogy is spot on. Neither one of those items, a condom worn just-in-case or a face mask, protects anyone.

Oh? So you've either had a test for COVID today, already had it, or have had no human contact at all in the last 1-2 months? Because those are really the only situations you possibly have a leg to stand on. Otherwise you're talking out of your ass

No, I don't need a test because I don't have the virus. If I did have it, the virus can't be stopped by a face mask. Sorry but that is actual science. I'm not going to wear one to keep you from wetting yourself.

Okay if you don't think masks work and you know you're not infected right now then you need to isolate anyway, because you have no way of knowing if some infected asshole is going out and about and is going to pass near you today

"Uninfected" is not some kind of permanent state, that's the whole goddamn point

Jesus, how do you think this *works?* Like, you have some magical inner cosmic awareness that alerts you to asymptomatic infection? You can sense your own antibodies? You can see whether you might transmit infection to others?
