Yeah the theme of a game about assassination should be that human bodies are very delicate all things considered and the hard part about murder is just catching someone unawares and not getting caught

I mean, on the other hand I respect games like TL oU that show humans can short term survive injuries and cause you a lot of trouble when they're in fight or flight, but as decades of tabletop game design show, that doesn't translate well to "hit points"

Like, if a skilled assassin gets behind a human with a dagger, she should be able to kill him no questions asked game mechanic wise, and silently. If she gets spotted, then what should happen is he probably still dies, after a reasonable number of stabs, and makes a lot of noise

And then the assassin should have to run because she doesn't have hit points either and can only get stabbed a few times before definitely dying The frustrating thing is this was basic stealth game design until like three years ago

And it's absolutely microtransactions driven and it ruins the whole idea of Assassin's Creed specifically, because now it's like "Rogue's Creed" and really you can play a warrior if you want, too, stealth is just a bonus first strike thing

The basic problem imo is that Assassin's Creed is trying to be something it isn't.

The basic problem is none of the games are good and also the premise and setting is trash

I mean I'm just trying to hit 101 territory here. Remember Ezio's games? They were really good. I think the problem is that we liked Ezio so much we forgot that the rest of the series is nonsense.

Like it's funny just HOW MUCH better Ezio's arc is than literally everything else in that series.

This is, after all, the setting that proclaimed that Hitler and FDR were on the same side.

WoD said the Technocracy were backing both the Allies and the Axis in WWII too and then they let the whole thing get away from them

Yeah, which is offensive, but AC went further and said WW2 was intended as a show war to unite the world. Also, that supposedly Hitler pushed the Shoah just because he had a grudge against a Jewish Assassin or something. It's real bad

I mean you know my everlasting grudge against WoD anyways and that whole spawn-of-a-conspiracy-poisoned-decade, especially in regards to the Holocaust, but...
