The phenomenon of someone freezing up in a Zoom meeting and just stuck there as a motionless statue while everyone makes annoyed comments about it makes me want to write up a fantasy setting where this randomly happens in real life

FWIW, dunno if you've seen or not, but this turns out to be the key comedy-to-tearjerker plot device in Act 3 of "CLICK" (the Adam Sandler "Universal Remote that manipulates reality" movie) - really knocked the theater for a loop when I saw it back when.

I mean it's not the same thing exactly, he doesn't literally "freeze up", his consciousness skips ahead while his body is an autopilot (it's a metaphor)
