Happens in the show Upload, cause various characters operate as holographic projections sometimes. Suppose it's not reg humans exactly, but the feeling is there.

At old job my boss once out himself on mute to talk to someone desk side, the other three of us pretend to freeze by holding real still and almost got him to reboot till one of us blinked

I pass boring WebEx work meetings by imagining them as in-person meetings. People sitting across the table going "can you hear me? Can your hear me now? Hello?", everyone being distracted by one person's loud breathing...
-
One time, right at the end of a meeting, one person asked if another could stay on the line for a minute, and the other guy hung up while guy 1 was still mid-sentence, and I just had this mental picture of someone jumping out the window to avoid further questions.

Makes me think of a RL version of an incident in the PhilosophyTube stream of Romeo and Juliet, where someone directly addressed Benvolio (Dan Olsen) only for him not to respond. "... Benvolio?" he's asked again. "I disconnecteth"
